Today I will be reviewing the book He Started It by Samantha Downing. I picked this book up at the store and after reading the reviews inside the book I knew it was perfect for me. I love a good thriller/ mystery book.

One of the reviews was from Betches which said it was Best for people who love "Criminal Minds" . Hello, that's definitely me.

I couldn't wait to get home and crack open this book.

About the book

Beth, Portia, and Eddie Morgan haven't all been together in years. And for very good reasons - we'll get to those later. But when their wealthy grandfather dies and leaves a cryptic final message in his wake, the siblings and their respective partners must come together for a cross- country road trip to fulfill his final wish and - more importantly - secure their inheritance.

But time with your family can be tough. It is for everyone.

It's even harder when you're all keeping secrets and trying to forget a memory, a missing person, an act of revenge, the man in the black truck who won't stop following your car - and especially when at least one of you is a killer and there's a body in the trunk. Just to name a few reasons.

But money is a powerful motivator. It is for everyone.

He Started It by Samantha Downing Book Review

Review

Wow! I literally just sat down and read this book cover to cover in one day.

Okay, so the review I mentioned at the beginning of this article is definitely on point. Let me just say He Started It is definitely worthy of a movie.

This was probably one of the absolute best thriller books I've read all year . I will be honest and say this is without a doubt one truly messed up family. Not only are they keeping secrets from the past but they are also hiding who they have become from each other and their partners.

He Started It is a fast paced book with twists and turns on almost every page. It also delves into the psyche of every character and how the past has transformed them as individuals and how they relate to those around them.

I'm going to be completely honest here and say the reason I love mystery/ thriller books so much is because I can usually predict the ending. I thought I knew exactly how this book would end from the first couple of chapters and was convinced I was right through the whole thing. I was wrong. I was completely shocked by the surprise at the end and truly never saw " that" coming.

I won't include any spoilers because I don't want to ruin this incredible book for anyone but I will say if you love thriller books, you have to add this book to your collection.
